The Kent FA are looking to recruit new referees:
Dear John
I trust you are well, and looking forward to the end of the 2017/2018 season …
As I have in the past I am emailing you to see if, in your capacity as club secretary of Park Regis Junior, you would be kind enough to share this communication with team managers, players and/or spectators/parents. We are actively trying to recruit more referees into the game, as we work towards both 100% coverage in the county as well as a succession planning process for the grassroots game…
We are currently offering an £85 reimbursement package (discounted fee) for;
· Anyone who is 16+, will become a referee and will sign up to a local, adult league, or,
· Any female who will become a referee and will sign up to either the Kent Girls & Ladies Football League or South East Counties Women’s Football League.
In order to qualify to attend a Referee Course, the ‘Get into Refereeing’ Workshop is a pre-requisite and forms Unit 1 of the Course. All Candidates who are 17 and under MUST attend with a Parent/Guardian, and the Parent/Guardian must remain for the duration of the Workshop. I am now pleased to be in a position to confirm the 2018 ‘Get into Refereeing’ Workshops, which are outlined below (the venues are hyperlinked to the relevant booking forms). You must enter your own FAN number, or create one if you do not have one. If you are booking on behalf of somebody else, please ensure you enter the details of the Candidate who wishes to enrol onto the course, and not your own!;
Tuesday 22nd May 2018 – Bromley FC, 7pm Start
Monday 11th June 2018 (PROMOTING FEMALE PARTICIPATION) – Ebbsfleet United FC, 7pm Start
Tuesday 19th June 2018 (PROMOTING FEMALE PARTICIPATION) – Three Hills, Folkestone, 7pm Start
Monday 02nd July 2018 – Bay Point Club, Sandwich, 7pm Start
Thursday 02nd August 2018 – Dartford FC, 7pm Start
Wednesday 12th September 2018 – Kent FA HQ, 7pm Start
Wednesday 24th October 2018 – Canterbury Christchurch University, 7pm Start
Each space costs £10, with payment being made through the online booking link only. All workshops subject to run, providing a minimum number of Candidates enrol. Referee Course dates WILL NOT appear on our website, but dates and venues will be provided only to those who successfully attend. Only those who have attended a workshop will be permitted to enrol onto a Referee Course. Referee Courses will commence from July 2018, through until February 2019, and will be throughout the County.
Please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may wish to become a Kent FA Referee. As a side note, if you are still playing, you may need to make a decision as to whether you continue to focus on this route in football, or indeed sacrifice this to focus on being a referee; it is difficult to balance both commitments.
Whilst we do encourage players to ‘take up the whistle’, we expect all trainee referees to sign up to a League to gain independent appointments and not to officiate solely for one Club.
Thank you for your anticipated help, support and assistance.
Kind Regards
Nick
