Unacceptable behaviour in football is increasing. All forms of discrimination – including racist, sexist and homophobic abuse – continue to threaten our game. But if we all come together, we can show everyone in grassroots football there’s no space for hate. What we mean by discriminationIn grassroots football, discrimination is verbal abuse, insulting gestures and prejudicial behaviour. The discrimination we’re targeting is words and actions that are racist, sexist or homophobic in nature. How to report hate, prejudice or discriminationWe’re asking everyone in grassroots football to help by reporting abusive behaviour whenever they see it or hear it. They can report it at any time, even after the match has finished, by any of these routes; • FA Website • Kick It Out app • Through your County FA • Talking to the match official The sanctions for discriminationThe FA will take action against those who ruin the game for others with a range of sanctions. These will be applied to players, clubs and spectators who behave in racist, sexist or homophobic ways. • Players will be removed from play • Players will be suspended for games • Clubs can have points deducted • Clubs can have their ground closed • Spectators will be asked to leave Let’s make this season a positive and enjoyable one for all. Please play your part in showing there’s no space for hate. |
